5-Stars performance from Millennium Stars

Just a week after the game against De-Royals FC, Millennium Stars welcomed Playlearn Academy at the millennium stars field, Delta State Vocational and Skills Acquisition center Asaba. The game kicked off by 16:00pm on Friday 8th November 2024, the home side wore their traditional Red on Black Jersey on Black hose playing from right to left of the field in a 4-2-3-1 formation. The first half saw Millennium Stars in control of the game, creating chances upon chances but the resolute defense of Playlearn Academy would not be bridged. The game opener didn't come till the 40th minute when Chisom Ibegbunam controlled the ball in midfield, dribbled past his marker before shooting from 35yards into the bottom corner of the net to give Millennium Stars the lead just before the break.

Millennium Stars started the second half like a house on fire, 5minutes into the second half sees Yadi Godswill double the lead for MSFA. Great did well to manover his marker before playing a through ball to the on running Godswill who converted, leaving the goal keeper in no mans land. Things went from bad to worse for Playlearn Academy when their defender handled the ball with his hand in the Playlearn box, the referee pointed to the spot and a penalty for MSFA. Emmanuel Ogbodo stepped up, and at the referee's whistle he sent the Playlearn goal keeper the wrong way. Millennium Stars would go on to totally dominate the tie adding a forth goal, Emmanuel Ogbodo sent a very delicious cross into the box to an in-running Terrence Igor's header into the back of the net. At 4-0 MSFA were careful to balance the attack with defense, Playlearn lunched lot of quick counter attacks but the defense partnership of Egesi John and Emmanuel Agu would not be penetrated. Ogbodo Emmanuel would clinch the Player of the match with yet another assist, he got an inch perfect pass from Chinedu Okoye,  Ogbodo went past his markers on the right wing before sending a dangerous cross into the Playlearn box, the defenders couldn't clear their line allowing John Egesi to make it 5-0 for Millennium Stars.

                                                          OGBODO EMMANUEL

It's now 2 wins in 2 games in the month of November for Millennium Stars as they followed up on previous week win, marking their best form in a long while. The MSFA Team captain John Egesi spoke to the media after the game "We are happy with the win, The boys showed lot of humility today because I saw when we are leading 5-0 that they were still in control of the game. It's also nice to be on the scoreboard".

MILLENNIUM STARS KEY NOTE

It is worth noting that Millennium Stars started the game 9V11, the game later balanced to 11V11, majority of Msfa Team A players were absent in this tie giving a lot of B team players opportunity to see what they could offer and they didn't disappoint. It was an easier game compared to the De-Royal game but we starting to see the real ability of the B team, Ogbodo Emmanuel, Great, Ikechukwu Emmanuel Ebube, Prince Eze Mc-anthony, really came to their own in this tie. The Millennium Stars management encourages the players to keep up the great work and continue on the path of personal and team development both on and off the field.
