Ojugbeli Favour brace helps propel Millennium Stars to an Early November Win

In what was a match of the TITANS we see De-Royals Flames FC host Millennium Stars FA on a sunny thursday evening, the friendly kicked off by 16:00pm at The West End Secondary School, Asaba. Millennium Stars started proceedings playing from right to left on their Traditional Red on Black Jersey on black hose while De-royals were in all orange Jersey.

De-Royals Flames played a 4-3-3 while Millennium Stars went with the 4-2-3-1, De-Royals were in control of the game early on but the first real opportunity of the game came to Millennium Stars around the 18th minute when Favour Ojugbeli sent a very delicious cross into the box to find Ifechukwudi Iyamah, Ifechuwudi couldn't convert from close range. Two minute later Favour would go on a solo run of his own inside De-Royal box beating three defenders on his way before slotting the ball into the net to give Millennium Stars the lead and the game opener. The rest of the first half would see De-Royal attacking press looking for an inspiration, a way back into the game but the formidable defense line of Baron-John-Emmanuel-Terrence were equal to the task.

The game restarted, Millennium Stars with the first attack in the second half around the 46th minute to almost double their lead, Ojugbeli Favour went on another solo run beating his markers, sent a through ball to find the in running Destiny Samson, who couldn't convert what should be the game decider. Five minute later Destiny and Favour would combine in a fine 1-2 pass to set up Favour who chipped the out running goal keeper to double Millinnium Stars lead and a brace for Ojugbeli. De-Royal pulled one back after converting a 35yard Free-kick, the ball beating the wall into the far corner. Second half substitutes of Kelvin and chisom added more bite to the Millennium Stars attack in the closing stages of the game, in the 81st minute the duo combined well to set up Kelvin but he couldn't convert. The game slowly wined down as millennium stars stood resiliently to get the win.

Destiny Samson with a brilliant performance in the box-to-box role, Terrence would not be dribbled and Chisom came in to give more balance to the midfield.
