Speaking on the sidelines of the tournament launch, Paul Arinze, the founder of Pauolo FC and driving force behind the CHAMPIONS CUP, shed light on the inspiration behind this groundbreaking event. "For too long, grassroots teams in Asaba have been overlooked and underrepresented," Mr. Arinze emphasized. "Places like Lagos and Abuja have shown us what's possible when you invest in grassroots football. The opportunities are endless - better scouting, coaching, and exposure. It's time we give our local teams a chance to shine. The CHAMPIONS CUP is our way of saying 'we believe in you' - we believe in the talent, passion, and potential of our grassroots teams." Mr. Arinze's vision is clear: to create a platform where young players can develop, grow, and make their mark on the beautiful game. The stage is set, and the teams are gearing up! We're thrilled to announce that the following teams have shown interest in participating in the inaugural CHAMPIONS CUP: Paul FA, P nation FA, Matrix FC, Avengers FC, Delighters FA, Halle FA, Lorita FC, De Unique FC, Young soccer FA, Starlight FA, Millennium Stars FA, De Giant FC, Dream Chaser FC, Utchi United FC, Royal FC, Blazers FC, Acarde FC, Ausward FC, and Sabato FC. Registration is ongoing, and we invite other teams to join the fray. The registration fee is 50,000 naira, and the deadline is February 24th.
